This is Carmen with her Grandma Galbraith.
This week has been a hard week for me. We found out that my son Vincent has pneumonia, he did not have too severe of a case, but it reminded me again how precious life is. I have been thinking a lot about Carmen and missing her this week. As time goes on it is easy to start wondering if I did enough. I love her.
I would like you to know that I am speaking at the Luminaria Ceremony for Relay for Life. It is on June 13 at 9:00 P.M.
I would like you to know also that my nephew, Chase, is doing an Eagle Scout project for the Family House in San Francisco, and if you would like to donate anything just email me.

I am very sorry to hear that you have had a bad week. I really hope things are looking up for you this week. Just remember that everything happens for a reason even if at this time and maybe never will we understand what that reason is. You are an amazinly strong person. My thoughts are always with you and I wish we had more time to get together and talk. Call me anytime...

Hey Dorothy, I know I keep saying I'm going to come visit...and I plan to still! In the meantime, I know a little how you feel when the world keeps on going and trials seem to still keep coming- sometimes I would expect a break coming my way. You continue to inspire & teach me even by posting your struggles that we are human and that every trial, big & small, can be overcome. For me, I realized that relying on Heavenly Father was harder AFTER going through some of the bigger hardships, it was then that I needed to even more. Your talk was a big part in helping me realize that. Sorry for the random lengthy note but I wanted you to know you're a wonderful and amazingly strong person-thank you.

Hi Dorothy,
I enjoy reading the blog, and I admire you for writing about how you feel. You know, in all honesty, I still have a hard time. There are so many things each day that remind me of Carmen. You and Reed are both amazing and I feel blessed that I was able to spend so much time with your family. I am glad that Vincent is feeling better. He has been missed at school. Stay healthy and get your rest.

Hey Dorth - I'm so sorry Vincent has been so sick. If you need ANYTHING, please please call me! I'm here! I am planning on walking in Relay for Life and will most definitely be there on Saturday night to hear you speak. I sure do miss Carmen, her big blue eyes and her bright smile. Payton and I have been talking about her so much lately and just feel so blessed to have had her in our life for the time that we did. I can't even imagine the emotions you have, but don't ever lose sight of the fact that you are an AMAZING, PHENOMENAL mother and you were the best mother to Carmen and she knew that and knows that and loves you so very much! Love you - Bridget

Dorothy, I have been thinking about Carmen, you, and your family all week long. I think about her many times a day. I am so blessed to have been able to sit with her in her room and just BE there. Thank you for being such a wonderful mom! Thank you for letting us all share in her life, and now in your grief. You WILL make it through this very hard time with the help of our Heavenly Father. Please don't doubt your efforts to help Carmen, nothing can compete with Heavenly Father's very special plans that he had for her in Heaven!! We love you guys so much!

I was asked to be a part of the Relay for life coming up in Oakley. I am proud to be signed up under the Knightsen team- Celebrating Carmen. It is such an honor to help raise money in her name so that a cure can be found!!

I continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
