Galbraith Family,

I heard the news of Carmen's passing from my Aunt and Uncle Matt and Dana Croghan. My heart aches for your family, but I know that you share our faith and know that you will see Carmen again.

She was such a sweet girl and I have fond memories of her from spending time at the hospital with Korrine. Carmen was so cute riding around in her red wagon and it was fun watching American Idol with her.

Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Stay Positive and LiveStrong!

Reed, Carmen, and Family,

Lori Last called and told me about Carmen's passing. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little girl! From everything I have heard, you two have been amazing through this whole ordeal. I am not surprised a bit - the two of you have held a special place in my heart for many years. I have loved Reed since he was a small child, and I can still remember the first time I saw Dorothy - it was at the Visitor's Center of the Oakland Temple during a Christmas concert. I could tell by the gleam in her eyes that she was as beautiful a person inside as she was outside. Carmen and your boys are so lucky to have you as parents. I know that you have loved, sacrificed for, and taught your children well. I know that, because of the tender experiences I had surrounding Doug's death, you will be carried through this experience. What a blessing to have the gospel in our lives! Please know that I love you and my family is praying for your family.
Love,
Brenda Hulme Steadman

Dorothy,
My heart is broken for you. I know that your Heavenly Father will carry you through this experience as you continue to trust Him. I know we have been gone a long time, but I have looked at Carmen and your Boys almost weekly as we look at our old scrapbooks and remember what fun times we had in the sunny state. I have such a special feeling for your family and especially for the amazing example that you are of Christlike love. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Love,
The Havens

There is not much for me to say that hasn't already been said. My heart aches for you as well. I sit and read your blog and cry and cry. How blessed we are for the gospel and our knowledge of the hereafter. My love goes to your family. You'll be in our prayers.

I like the picture of Carmen in her pink jacket. May you continue to feel the presence of our Lord as He comforts you and walks with you.

The news of Carmen's passing hit our family hard. Bedtime is the most difficult time. That is when the world slows down and the thoughts rush in.

We all wear our bracelets and think of Carmen every day. Sometimes we cry for her and hug each other. Sometimes the kids tell me something about how they remember her in Kindergarten and third grade, (the two times they shared the same class). We pray for her and your family daily.

We know that God had a special place for her and that's why he took her early. We talk about how she was put on this earth to show us all strength during the bad times.

My son Justin tells me about how he used to play with Carmen during recess in Kindergarten. He is very sad right now but he tells me about the good times. Alexis still remembers when Carmen didn't give a cookie to Mr. Taylor and how she (Carmen) laughed. Hannah remembers playing in the sandbox with Carmen.

As a mother i can only imagine how your loss feels. When my son had his surgery i was terrified when they wheeled him off. During his stay at the Hospital afterwards, i thought of your family all the time. Carmen's picture was up on the bulletin board that i passed daily when i went down the elevator for coffee. It is difficult to stay strong for your children and to take care of your own feelings at the same time.

I am so glad that your family had so much support from the community. Carmen will be missed and we will never forget her. She is in our hearts for all time.
